receipts world
Have you ever visited a town for the second time and wondered: where was that kitchen store where we bought those beautiful napkins, and what was the brand? How many points were on last week's grocery receipt I am saving for the free cookware at my local supermarket? Or what shoe size was on my receipt last time I bought runners at that shop?
Receipts World is your answer. It gives you a quick, read-only overview of your Receipts Space data on iPhone and iPad — with Search and Smart Lists that can narrow down any group of receipts you want to browse.
on-the-go
Receipts World is a free companion app for Receipts Space™ by Dirk Holtwick – a local document and receipt hub for macOS. Currently Receipts Space doesn't provide iPhone and/or iPad apps to view your receipts while on-the-go. This is where Receipts World comes in — a quick, read-only overview of your financial data, made possible by Receipts Space's open export API. Currently available as beta through Apple's TestFlight program.
helper app
To keep Receipts World in sync with the main Receipts Space app, you'll need to install the Receipts World Helper on your Mac – a lightweight menu bar app available below. The Helper watches Receipts Space and exports your library to iCloud Drive whenever you stop working, so your iPhone and iPad always have fresh data. Your data stays in your own iCloud environment – nothing is ever sent to a server.
instructions
Fill in the signup form below to join the Receipts World beta program. You'll receive a link to install the app via TestFlight, Apple's beta testing platform. Your Receipts Space data is completely safe — Receipts World is read-only. Nothing is ever written to your Receipts Space library.
Getting started
- Install TestFlight — if you don't have it yet, download it for free from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Accept your beta invite — tap the TestFlight link in the email you receive and install Receipts World.
- Open Receipts World on your iPhone or iPad. The app sets up its iCloud folder in the background — you'll see a "No Library Yet" screen, which is expected. You can close it again.
- Open Receipts Space as you normally would.
- Download Receipts World Helper on your Mac, move it to your Applications folder and open. It detects Receipts Space automatically and exports your library to iCloud Drive. The Helper lives in your menu bar and needs no further setup.
- Open the Files app on your iPhone or iPad. In iCloud Drive, find the Receipts World folder, long-press it and tap Keep Downloaded. This ensures your Receipts Space data stays in sync automatically going forward.
- Return to Receipts World — it will find your library automatically.
download
Download the Helper here, and follow the instructions above. Once you're in the beta program, you can leave the house with your full receipt history in your pocket.
Requirements
- Receipts World v1.0.1 (18.3 MB) requires iOS/iPadOS 26.0 or later and iCloud Drive with at least 50 MB available
- Receipts World Helper v1.0.2 (4.3 MB) requires macOS 13 Ventura or later
- PDF viewing requires one or more Receipts Space libraries stored as 'folder' on iCloud Drive
Receipts World Helper v1.0.2
- Improved: The Helper now syncs within 3 minutes of stepping away from Receipts Space, down from 15 minutes.
- Improved: The "Last sync" line in the menu now shows when the current library was last synced. Switching libraries updates it straight away.
- Fixed: Occasional export of incomplete data when opening or switching libraries.
Receipts World Helper v1.0.1
- Fixed: In rare cases, moving your Receipts Space library to a different folder could cause the Helper to export it with the wrong currency in the filename (e.g.
receipts-space-library-usd.jsoninstead ofreceipts-space-library-eur.json). The library data itself was always correct — only the filename was affected. - Fixed: When Receipts Space is opening or switching libraries, the Helper now waits for the library to be fully loaded before syncing, preventing an occasional export with an incorrect filename (
receipts-usd.json).
Receipts World Helper v1.0
- Initial release.
mariner paperless
If you're — just like I was — still stuck with all your receipts in Paperless v3.0.80 after Mariner Software closed its doors, this script gives you a clean migration path to Receipts Space. It transfers all your metadata — vendors, categories, amounts, dates, notes and tags — and handles messy real-world data like EU/US number formats and vendor name spelling variations. Tested on libraries of 23,000+ receipts across three currencies. And then use Receipts World while on-the-go!
